1. What are the hourly rates for an after-school nanny?

Our after-school nannies have a starting rate of £13 per hour, which aligns with the London Living Wage. Families are welcome to offer a higher rate if desired. Rates may vary slightly depending on experience, availability, and role complexity.

2. How does payment and payroll work?

If your nanny earns £123 or more per week, you’ll need to run payroll as their employer. We partner with NannyTax, a trusted UK payroll provider, to make this process smooth and compliant. If your nanny earns under the threshold, you can pay them directly—usually via bank transfer.

3. Who are your nannies?

We’re a sports-inspired, student-led agency partnering with 10+ leading London universities. Our amazing after-school nannies are undergraduate, postgraduate, master's, and PhD students with childcare experience, energy, and a passion for working with children.

4. Are your nannies DBS-checked and first-aid trained?

Absolutely. Every nanny undergoes an enhanced DBS check via UCheck and completes first aid training. You’ll receive all relevant documentation before your nanny begins work with your family.

5. Is my after-school nanny entitled to sick pay?

Most after-school nanny roles are part-time, so many nannies do not qualify for Statutory Sick Pay (SSP). If your nanny earns over the weekly SSP threshold, we’ll guide you through their entitlement and support with next steps.

6. Is my nanny entitled to paid holiday?

Yes. As an employer, you're legally required to offer paid annual leave. We’ll calculate your nanny’s holiday entitlement and share that with you before their start date. We also encourage aligning holidays when possible to suit your family’s plans.

7. Can your after-school nannies drive?

Some of our nannies do drive, but many students rely on public transport due to parking challenges near campuses. If driving is essential, please mention this during your enquiry and we’ll do our best to match you with a driving nanny.

8. Can I arrange a trial with my nanny?

Yes, we actively encourage trial shifts to ensure the right fit for your family and your children. Trial sessions can be arranged easily through our team or group chat once a potential nanny is identified.

9. Are your nannies available for evening babysitting?

Yes! Many of our after-school nannies are also available for evening babysitting. If your regular nanny is unavailable, just let us know and we’ll find a trusted backup for you.

10. Do you offer childcare during school holidays?

Yes—we provide holiday childcare through our extended network of sporty nannies and mannies. Whether your regular nanny is unavailable or you need extra help, we’ll make sure you’re covered during half-terms, inset days, and school breaks.

11. What happens in an emergency?

We’re here for you 364 days a year, from 7am to 7pm, Monday to Sunday. If you experience a childcare emergency, contact us right away and we’ll dispatch an emergency nanny to assist your family as quickly as possible.

12. How do I cancel the service?

We require one full calendar month’s notice to cancel your membership. Once your nanny is employed by your family, a 2–4 week notice period applies based on what was agreed in your nanny’s contract. Full cancellation terms are outlined in our T&Cs.
